How Miss Eastern Shore works, who can compete, and what a year as a titleholder looks like.
Miss Eastern Shore exists to empower young women ages 14 to 28 through personal development, community service, and leadership. We are an official local preliminary to the Miss Alabama competition, which in turn leads to the Miss America stage.
Every contestant competes for scholarship awards, gains interview and public speaking experience, and champions a community service initiative she cares about. Our titleholders spend a year representing the Eastern Shore at parades, school visits, and community events across the state.
The competition is directed by Cricket Vigor and made possible by the volunteers, judges, sponsors, and families who give their time and support each year.

The local preliminary held on the Eastern Shore. Contestants compete in Miss and Teen divisions for the title and scholarship awards.
Our titleholders represent the Eastern Shore at Miss Alabama and Miss Alabama's Teen alongside winners from preliminaries across the state.
Miss Alabama goes on to compete for the national title and its scholarships, with a year of service on the national stage.
Contestants are evaluated by a panel of judges across several phases. Each one is a chance to show who you are, on stage and off.

A performance that shares your gifts, from vocal and dance to instrumental and spoken word.

Poise and presence in evening wear, paired with a question that shows how you think on your feet.
Two divisions, one sisterhood. Age requirements follow the Miss America Organization for the current competition year.
Miss Eastern Shore
Must be between 18 and 28 years old as of September 30, 2027.
Miss Eastern Shore's Teen
Must be at least 14 as of September 1, 2027, and no older than 18 on September 30, 2027.
Live, attend school, or work full time in Alabama
Register with the Miss America Organization
Complete the preliminary fee, a donation to the American Heart Association
Submit the required paperwork by the application deadline
Winning is the beginning. Our Miss and Teen titleholders spend the following year representing the Eastern Shore, growing as leaders, and preparing for the state competition.
